Riding Horses

I took Mia, Art and Brenda's foreign exchange student, and Hayley horseback riding this week. (Thanks to Tyler for getting the horse for us.) We all had a turn or two on the horse. I wasn't even deathly afraid this time. I rode around for awhile and even loosened my grip on the saddle horn a little bit.

Marlee didn't ride, I am not quite ready to give anyone a ride just yet, but these pictures turned out so cute that I had to include them.

Gila Valley Temple Open House

On Monday I took the kids to go see the Gila Valley Temple, as they are having an open house at this time. Chad was not able to take of work, so thankfully three of Chad's sisters, and his brother Devin and family wanted to make the trip with us. I would have had a terrible time trying to keep my children reverent by myself. When we saw the baptismal font both Bryant and Karalee were sorely tempted by the water. They kept creeping their way closer to it trying to touch it. Luckily the didn't. It was nice to be in the temple with my children. I hope each of them will have a desire to enter and make sacred covenants for themselves when they get old enough.

It was fun to go back the Gila Valley area again. I have so many memories from the year I went to college there. I saw a few people I know from that area, I love that about small towns, and I saw some friends from our ward and stake who happened to go on the same day as us.

I don't know why the boys have these expressions on the faces. I guess they were just being silly.

A baby shower for Suzannah

Last weekend I threw a baby shower for my sister-in-law Suzannah. It was a lot of fun. I love parties!!! I served crepe's along with other brunch items. They were SO yummy. I'll share my recipe at the end of this post.

CREPES

1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
2 c. milk
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites, beaten
1 tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice

Beat egg whites until stiff; set aside. Beat rest of ingredients until smooth. Fold egg whites into batter. (Ready to fry.) Use medium size greased frying pan. Pour a little batter in the pan, then swirl it around and let it fry until cooked enough to flip over.

FILLING
(I put this filling and vanilla pudding inside the crepe then I put cut up fresh strawberry's with sugar on top and then sprinkle it all with powdered sugar.)

8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 C powdered sugar
8 oz. cool whip

Beat together until smooth.

Spencer knows how to get what he wants.

Last night as Chad and the boys were getting ready for their father and sons campout, Chad was trying to convince the boys that it would be ok to sleep at his parents cabin instead of in a tent at the campground because it is going to be pretty cold and the campground is only a few miles from the cabin. After a few minutes of Chad trying to convince them Spencer said, "Come on Dad, don't you want to be a man?" That decided things, they are sleeping in the tent.

Marlee is learning to walk

Marlee is taking more steps now.

Karalee went to the Prom!

Karalee got to go to the prom with her Grandpa tonight. His ward had a daddy/daughter prom. She had so much fun. I had fun getting her all dressed up. She usually doesn't like to have her hair fixed, but I promised her she could wear some of my lipstick so she was ok.

Bryant lost a tooth

I pulled Bryant's first loose tooth out today. He was so brave. He didn't cry and said it didn't even hurt. Since his Uncle Tyler offers him two dollars to let him pull his tooth I had to offer him two dollars before he would let me do it. Hopefully the tooth fairy remembers to come tonight.
