This is What's Happening

Here is what has been happening in our family during the last few months.

Chad and I cheering for Spencer during his soccer game

Karalee at the soccer game

Bryant had his first soccer game on Saturday morning too, but we didn't get any pictures of him playing. Here he is in his uniform lookin' so cute. He scored 3 goals during his first game. It helps that he is one of the oldest in his age division and that he is big for his age.

This is the only pictures we got of Spencer playing. We will have to get more next week. Spencer and his friends played up a year so they could be with their friend Porter who is a year older than them. Now they get to play on a bigger field and they get to play positions. I am learning lots about soccer this year, it is fun, but I still hope that the boys will favor basketball because it is my favorite sport to watch.

I painted Marlee's toenails after I did mine and Karalee's pedicures. She looked so cute. A man in the grocery store even noticed and commented about them.

I bottled some homemade tomato soup the other day. The silver thing on the left was my Grandma Flake's sieve. I don't know what is is called exactly, but you put the tomatoes in and then turn the wooden thing around and around until all the juice gets out so you can throw out the peelings and seeds. As I was making the soup I couldn't help but think of my Mom and Grandmothers who bottled things over the years and how they did it out of necessity and I do it more as a hobby (and for longer term food storage). The older I get the more respect I have for those who came before me and have taught me so much.

We went to Snowflake over Labor Day weekend. I don't have pictures of the boys because I hardly ever saw them. They were too busy playing with their cousins.

You know you have a big family when the dinner table can also double as a ping pong table.

Karalee decided to put her bumber sticker on her head. Ouch!

Marlee and Mary born six days apart. They are getting so big.

Karalee picked out her outfit! (Sorry I forgot to turn the picture the right way)

Bryant playing the wii. The video below shows how excited he gets and how he migrates to right in front of the tv.

Sisters make the best friends

Karalee has been glued to the tv lately. She is always asking to watch a "mobie".

I love it when my kids fall asleep in crazy positions!

Karalee and Bryant playing trains. Karalee is finally learning to play with us and follow the rules instead of destroying the set up or game.

Amy and I bottled some peaches and pears last week. The kids had toys scattered everywhere!

It won't be too long before Marlee is crawling! I asked Bryant to get Marlee some toys and he said she loves cars and the race track.

2009 Summer Vacation

August 3-5 we had a "staycation" at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix. It was a lot of fun even though I had to walk with a cane and I had to wear my neck brace. I got some strange looks when I went swimming, but sometimes you've got to do what you've just got to do, no matter what everyone else thinks right?

Before I had my accident I thought I didn't really care what people thought, but when everyone stared at me because I had a neck brace and was walking with a cane I got very self conscious and I found myself wanting to stay at home away from everyone's stares. I am glad that I don't have to wear it anymore. I didn't like that feeling.

All these pictures are from my phone. I think we forgot the real camera.

Silly Bryant

Marlee has a serious expression most of the time, but she is a very good natured baby.

We had lots of fun playing Monopoly in our room.
